Tuna Ticket

Chris found a great day trip deal.  For ¥3000, we headed out to Miura Peninsula outside of Tokyo for the day and had round trip train ticket, ulimited use of the bus, a choice of either going to a hot springs by the ocean or going to an aquarium and a free meal.  We chose to explore the town of Misaki, which is a small seaside fishing village famous for its tuna catch.  Great deal!

We spent most of the day exploring the rocky shores of an island called Jogashima.  Pics of the island in the next post.

Whole squid!
Fried tuna.
It's impossible to describe how amazing this meal was.  Maybe one of the best I've had in Japan.  Rice bowl with tuna sashimi and tuna tempura garnished with crispy seaweed, radish, sesame seeds and a bit of cabbage. Accompanied by seaweed miso soup, pickles and dried tuna flakes.

It was a good day!
